Support Breast Cancer UK with our live performance event!

At Sing For Life, we aim to empower local women through the joy of singing while supporting a vital cause. By participating in our project, you'll not only develop your vocal and musical skills but also contribute to Breast Cancer UK and help raise awareness.
Launching in February 2026, Sing for Life Nottingham will sign up around forty local women to take part in a six week pop-up singing project, working towards a fantastic live performance in March '26 supporting Breast Cancer UK.
Absolutely no previous singing experience is necessary, just a willingness to step outside your comfort zone, get stuck in and give it a go… it’s all about the journey, and we promise we’ll have you singing and loving it in no time!

Sing For Life (Nottingham) is a fundraising project commencing early in 2026 that helps a group of volunteer women raise money and learn to sing through a six week programme of Tuesday evening rehearsals leading towards performing live on stage at a large concert at Nottingham's Albert Hall on Sunday 29th March 2026 at 7:30pm. Everyone involved will be able to raise money for this wonderful charity along the jouney via Just Giving so that the funds you raise go directly to charity. Friends will be able to purchase tickets for the concert to see the results of your challenge.
Sing For Life (Nottingham) is open to anyone who is female, or identifies as female and has an upper voice range. We welcome participants of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and neurodiverse experiences. While a few supportive male volunteers may also be present, the main team will also identify as female.
See below for ways to sign up, register and contact us.
Of course, most people can sing and with help from the professional music team and our rehearsal support structure we will guide you through learning your part. Everyone will be issued with the music and professional learning tracks to help you learn your part, you will be amazed at what you can achieve whilst having fun with others in the same situation. If you are one of the few that we feel may struggle with a project such as this then we will be kind enough to gently let you know from the outset. We really hope that you will learn something about music and your voice along the journey. Give it a try, see what you can do and unlock your inner singer!
At Sing For Life all we ask is that you commit to just six rehearsals to be held weekly on a Tuesday evening 7:30pm to 9:30pm in Daybrook, Nottingham.
Rehearsals are on 17/2, 24/2, 3/3, 10/3, 17/3 and 24/3 - all in 2026.
You also need to commit to the final concert at the Nottingham Albert Hall on the evening of Sunday 29th March 2026. You will get out of this what you put in so a little bit of practice time in between reherasals will also really help.
All initial Meet and Greet sessions will be held in a private function room at the Cooper's Brook Public House, 101 Mansfield Rd, Daybrook, Nottingham NG5 6BH - you will be issued a date and time slot after registering, all Meet and Greet Session are held on Tuesday evenings leading up to the start of rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be held at St Paul's Church room, Mansfield Rd, Daybrook, Nottingham NG5 6BH. Our rehearsal room is warm, comfortable and a really great place to enjoy bringing our singing together as a team. We are not affiliated with any religion.
We ask for a single joining fee of just £20 which gives you entry to the project, pays for your music and professional leadership.
No, this is not the XFactor and there is no formal audition. We will however do a quick, simple and informal voice test with you during your Meet and Greet session just to find out what your voice range is and therefore where in our singing group you will be able to give the best performance. It is absolutely nothing to worry about and we hope to make it fun and enjoyable for you. Plus... you get a FREE glass of wine (or soft drink) to get you ready!
There are so many important charities that we could run this project for but we believe that with your help we can support a charity for a disease that has affected many women (and men), providing education, research and campaigning to drive down deaths and prevent this awful disease before it happens. Help us to make a difference by putting yourself outside of your comfort zone and giving it a go.
Don't worry, we will help you set up a Sing for Life (Nottingham) Just Giving page where people can sponsor you and you can track your own progress, it is so easy to set up and you don't need to be a technical wizzard to do this. A guide of how to do this will be issued upon the project start and we are always around to answer any questions. The Just Giving method ensures that any funds you raise go directly to Breast Cancer UK. We suggest asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you in taking part for a great cause and if you are part of an organisation or group they may wish to sponsor you or the project as a whole. We will suggest ways to help during the project and we will also track the amount raised by everyone as a project group throughout the weeks as we lead up to the final concert.
Costs to run the project are met via corporate sponsorship, the sign up fee and concert ticket fee, no profits are made from this project and any excess funds will be used to run the next project for the same charity. Any excess funds at the end of the Sing for Life (Nottingham) project as a whole will sent to the charity if not used to fund the project within a reasonable period of time.
If you are part of a company or organisation that would like to sponsor the project corporately then please do let us know upon sign up and we will get in touch.
Let's make this a success for Breast Cancer UK!
